DSO138mini DIY Kit

DSO138mini brings in the following improvements:

Better structure and smaller size. The bulky pin-headers connecting the LCD and main board in old DSO138 has been elimintated. The soldering of these pin-headers has being found problematic for beginners.
USB or battery powered. This makes the scope much more convenient to be used as a portable device. New version analog board (PN: 109-13801-00H, aka "H version") can accommodate a battery charger JYE118 (see here) to make the device more practical.
External trigger input. This input can accept a TTL or LVTTL signal as trigger source.
Serial output of waveform data. This mean captured data can be saved and displayed by PC. For example, this photo shows a captured single byte (0x35) sent from a serial port at 115200bps. This photo shows the same waveform displayed on PC using Gnuplot.
General controller. The main board can be used as a general purpose control board with LCD display. MCU ports were brought to board edges for easy connection to target system.

There are a few optional parts that can be chosen to make the oscilloscope even more complete:

BNC connector. The kit comes with a two-pin header for the simple hook probes (see the manual). This connector replace the two-pin header and will allow you to connect to standard professional BNC probe.
Arcylic enclosure. Please see the photo below. The instructions for enclosure assembly is here.

Major features of DSO138mini:

Analog bandwidth: 0 - 200KHz
Sampling rate: 1Msps max
Sensitivity: 10mV/Div - 5V/Div
Sensitivity error: < 5%
Vertical resolution: 12-bit
Timebase: 10us/Div - 500s/Div
Record length: 1024 points
External trigger
Built-in 1KHz/3.3V test signal
Waveform frozen (HOLD) function available
Save/recall waveform
Serial waveform data output

Important Notes

Power supply is not included in the kit. User needs to prepare a USB cable with micro-USB style pulg to run the scope. Any USB port with higher than 150mA current capacity can be used as power source for the scope.
It is assumed that users have adaquate soldering skills and troubleshooting skills to assemble the DSO138mini kits. It is not guaranteed that you will end up with a working device. But we make as much efforts as we can to approach that goal.

About Board Versions

There are two versions for both the main board and analog board. They are the same in performance. But the newer version boards are more battery friendly and can be placed into the enclosure. Here are the differences.

The newer main board (ver. I) changed pin-header J9 to a 3-pin one and added diode D2. Other than these all the rests are identical to the earlier board (ver. H).
The newer analog board (ver. H) reserved a location for battery charger board by relocating some components and added power switch SW4. A blue LED was also added for aesthetic reason. The location of SW1 was shifted slightly towards the right hand side to meet the requirement of enclosure.
If you have purchased the old version boards but don't need to add enclosure you are fine. There is no performance loss.
If you have purchased the old version boards and want to add enclosure you can contact us at jyetek@gmail.com. We will provide free new analog board with parts when you purchase the enclosure. You just need to send us your original purchase proof which has your name and vender's name on it. This free replacement is only available with enclosure purchase directly from us by email.

Product update [2018.12.12]

The analog board has been revised to version "J" which includes the following changes:

The slide switches "CPL", "SEN1", and "SEN2" were changed to side slide (see photo ) to make operation more reliable.
Changed the input circuitry for the 1V range so that cap trimmer calibration is much more easier.
